In the area of automatic truck and container loading, trucks are often used to load bulk goods, coal, slag, steel coils, steel slabs, and scrap steel strips. 3D LiDAR can precisely measure the position of trucks and their compartments, and perform 3D modeling of the cargo within them. It accurately measures the angles and 3D data of containers as well as the arrangement of goods inside the containers
In terms of scanning slabs and steel plates, 3D LiDAR can accurately locate them, scan the 3D contours of slabs and steel plates, and measure length, width, and height. In the field of intelligent material yard, 3D LiDAR can be used to scan the contour of objects under the overhead crane and bucket wheel, and measure the volume of bulk cargo under the overhead crane.
Additionally, 3D LiDAR can provide reliable and continuous monitoring of scattered goods within a plant area. It creates detailed images of the surface of material piles, which serve as the basis for volume calculations. For example, when a wheel loader unloads or clears waste in an area, the software can immediately calculate the new volume. This can be configured for the entire pile or just for specific areas as needed.
